Bill MacMillan, Certified Association Executive (CAE), is the chief executive officer of Association Headquarters (AH). The company serves as the executive headquarters for activities of international trade associations and professional societies as well as provides client driven special initiatives. These organizations have annual budgets ranging from $200,000 to more than $5 million.
Bill's scope of responsibility as CEO extends to a staff of more than 100 specialized association executives, administrators and support personnel. Prior to his establishment of AH in 1978, he served as executive vice president and half owner of another association management firm, Management Services. In that capacity, Bill was responsible for the management of four trade associations.
Bill has received the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Grand Award for Management Achievement, the Association Management Company Institute (AMCi) Award of Merit and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Margaret Dana Award.
Bill has served as president of the AMCi, the trade association representing association management companies and recently served as chairman of the council (board of directors) of the Association Management Company section of ASAE. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Gettysburg College and a master's degree with an emphasis on voluntary organization management from Florida Atlantic University. Bill also currently serves on the Board of Directors of ASAE. |
