Susan J. Nelson, Certified Association Executive (CAE), is AH senior vice president, medical associations, as well as Executive Vice President of the American Society of Transplantation (AST). Susan has more than 20 years of association management experience specifically with nonprofit medical/healthcare societies. She is the recipient of the first AST Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her contributions and dedication to AST.

Susan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lycoming College, Pennsylvania. Susan is a graduate of the Institute for Organizational Management, a program aimed specifically at the education of association executives. Susan also earned her certified association executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in May 2002.
