The Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) is a professional organization that specializes in certifying and advancing the profession of medical dosimetry (the accurate measurement of doses). Medical dosimetrists are members of radiation oncology teams who have knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment, are cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy, and have the education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the medical physicist and radiation oncologist. MDCB is dedicated to promoting the provision of safe, competent medical care for all patients requiring medical dosimetry services. |
