ASTM INTERNATIONAL ELECTS AH PRESIDENT TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

MT. LAUREL, NJ – Robert B. Waller, Jr., CAE, President and Chief Operating Officer of Association Headquarters (AH), was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of ASTM International for 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Originally established as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), ASTM International is the leading organization worldwide that develops voluntary standards for materials, products, systems, and services utilized by designers and manufacturers to create safe, reliable, cost-effective products. Board members serve as the governing body of the organization, and are elected by a membership of more than 30,000 from more than 100 countries worldwide.

Waller has been a member of ASTM International since 1995, earning distinction as an ASTM Fellow and recognized with the Award of Merit in 2002. Additionally, Bob is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the International Association for Association Management Companies (IAAMC), the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO), and the New Jersey Society of Association Executives (NJSAE). Bob also sits on the Board of Directors for Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), First Candle Alliance, and serves as Treasurer of IAAMC.

At AH, Bob manages a staff of more than 80 specialized association executives, administrators, and support personnel, while overseeing all company operations and serving as President of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, Executive Vice President of the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association, and Executive Director of the National Association of Chewing Gum Manufacturers and Flag Manufacturers Association of America. With more than 15 years of association management experience, Bob was honored with the Excellence in Association Management Award, the highest given by NJSAE.
